Free Saturday

today was nice...
no morning lessons for the first time since last year on a saturday...
so its usual for me to sleep late..
woke up at 12 noon.. had lunch which was sucky...
went out for the whole afternoon and evening..
caught 2 movies..
the first one was Knowing.. kinda lengthy show... the concept of the movie was nice..
but the ending was sucky.. alien life saving a few people to start life on another planet..
thats so lame.. so i give it a rating of just 3 out of 5..
the second movie was taken.. this one was nice...
a retired sercet agent bent on revenge bcoz of his daughter's kidnapping..
nice show.. many violent scenes and shooting scenes...
full of suspense and thrills... 2 thumbs up from me... 4 out of 5 rating...
its been a while since i last caught a movie.. no time la this few weeks...
but today.. free wor.. so go out spend some money lo.. haha ^^

Study.. Test.. Study.. Test

Thats what every Sec 4s have to do everyday...

everyday there is at least a test on a subject.. and thats no fun at all..

today was wednesday.. and there was no CCA.. thats a bit weird...

reached back to the hostel quiet early.. and felt quiet weird with it...

workload is getting more and more...

but i think tomorrow will be a breather for me as half the class would be out on the High Achievers Course...

had Chem test today.. wasnt sure if it was a test at all.. haha..

we were all looking at each others scripts..

Did CIP last friday.. and it was the best CIP i every did...

had free food and drinks.. as we did CIP at a house used to pack food for the needy..

the house was jammed packed full of eating stuff.. and we were given the authority to drink anything in the fridge..

thats so cool.. CIP with free food.. haha...

we moved the food around... the rice was the heaviest... but we managed to move it all.. all 100 packs of it..

9 of us.. 5 sec4s and 4 sec1s... finished the job earlier than expected.. we packed 100 bags containing rice, milo, biscuits, canned food etc..

took home some food too..

looking forward to it again this friday.. hope there will be CIP for us again.. haha

Life's back to normal

hardcore dance practices are now a distant memories...
from now onwards.. its all about our studies..
seriously i still cant take in the fact that there would not be any more dance classes for me this year..
i dreaded it last year.. would rather go back and sleep..
but now.. its part of my life..
a way for me to relax.. unwind... its like a drug to me already..
to take it away from me so suddenly... its not fair...
but i have to admit.. studies now are way more important...
6 more months to the Os and im not in exam mode at all..
just woke up and i havent done any homework..
the workload is getting worse and homework is piling up for me..
lack of sleep makes me sleepy everyday in class.. not that i want to.. but i have no choice...
catching 40 winks between classes is not a pleasure.. especially when u have to wake up even though u don feel like to..
our school's choir got gold in the SYF.. thats a big shock to all of us..
since their creation in 1999.. they never won a 2nd placed award.. so this was a big shock.. a tough one to swallow...
the choir boys said they screwed up the 3rd song.. they sang higher by a note.. and that was enough to take away the gold with honours from them..
many of them cried... because the were branded the best secondary school choir in Asia.. bu only got a gold..
i believe they are better than that.. and i think they will bounce back..
speaking about CCA's... the Exco members for dance is out..
and my little You bingqian is the next vice president.. good luck and all the best to him..
Jing Zu will be holding the secretary post.. while my couzzie E teng got to be in charge of logistics.. all thanks to me la.. haha ^^
still wondering how we got gold.. we seriously screwed up a lot of parts on that day's performance..
haha.. maybe the judges just love us...
and i feel like laughing everytime i hear that recording..
we must have looked like a bunch of idiots when we shouted.. haha..
miss that feeling.. !! ^^

Catholic High School... Gold with Honours

i cant believe it..
all the hard work has finally been paid off..
im so happy.. undescribable...
we made our way to UCC after school...
took a cab there.. 4 of us.. jien bryan and keewen..
reached there but it was too late.. the JCs have finished their performance..
we gather around.. all 25 of us... and chatted.. we met up with some of our past teachers...
and all of them said our performance was good.. but we doubt that..
too many individual mistakes done on dat day.. and we feared the most..
we lined up and began to go into the ucc hall..
all cat high boys sat on a line.. and mr ang and few other dancers sat a little behind us..
everyone in that hall had to endure at least 20 minutes of talking from a judge.. someone from new york i think.. on her and the other judges view of this round of competition..
then.. results time.. we were damn nervous..
the commentator told everyone to save their shouting and cheering for later.. but when it was our turn..
everything went slow mo...
"Catholic High School.. Gold with honours" was said in a slow monotonous voice..
ji en and i couldnt hold back our jo.. and we shouted like girls.. hahaha....
it was fantastic.. first all boys sku to get gold with honours in SYF international dance.. haha ^^
soon after that.. it was break time for the results announcement.. we shouted again...
but around us people were crying... not meeting their targets..
it was kinda bittersweet.. the feeling.. we, a group of boys cheering our heads off because we aced in something we were supposed to be weaker at and that is dance.. and a whole load of gals crying because they have failed in what they are deemed to be good at...
we maintained our composure before going out.. we all jumped on top of Mr Fen, our dance instructor, one by one and he was almost crushed to death...
we love him so much.. thanks a lot... no Mr Fen.. No gold with honours..
okay... we continued to stay at UCC and began to talk crap.. about how Mr Ang shouted at us.. mimicking how he scolded us...
we were all delighted.. took pictures too.. haha

there's another performance going on at the esplanade... on the 29 june..

It's Done..

SYF's over.. thats a sad news to hear..
but the experience i gained from it.. was once in a lifetime..
never did i imagine myself dancing on the big stage.. this was big okay.. a national competition..
when i was put up to a decision on which CCA to choose.. dance was my last solution but i decided to follow along the crowd and joined dance..
and how fortunate i was to follow them.. dance has completely changed my life..
the trainings i had to go through.. the discipline... the kicks i had to do.. the jumps... all of these i will remember for life..
now i understand why girls like dance so much.. because it is damn interesting and fun..
and i dont mean break dancing or hiphop.. i mean ballet, modern jazz and other stuff.. international dances...
its real hard for professional dancers to step onto the big stage..
but we're just boys and we're not professionals at all..
so i would like to congratulate all the dancers.. no matter wad award we get tomolo..
be it gold.. or i hope its a gold with honours.. we should be proud of ourselves...
we did this together.. we're all in this together..
so no matter wad.. keep ur chin up.. and be proud of yourself..
cause for a male dancer.. the most important thing in you is ur confidence..

talking bout the results.. im damn nervous now.. really dont know what we'll get..
there were quiet a number of mistakes.. but the audience ( including my mum and dad) did not really noticed any..
yeah.. my mum and dad came all the way down just to see me perform.. thanks a lot mum and dad... u bring out the best in me..
the performance level of our team really dropped.. our coach predicted it as well.. he said its always like dat on performance day.. due to the anxiousness and nervousness...
well.. i really had wobbly legs when i first stepped onto the stage with all the lights shining on me..
but when i did the first move.. it all came back to me.. and i tot i executed the whole dance quiet well.. for my part...
the feeling was good.. u and your team.. and this big stage.. in front of others watching u...
that feeling is undescribable... haha ^^
when we finished our dance.. we started admitting our wrongs.. many were disappointed with the outcome.. but wads done is done.. no point looking back..
we saw a couple more dances by the other teams.. and Cedar Girls School was more outstanding then the rest we saw..
the other seasoned dancers said that the kinda took our last SYF's idea and tweaked it a little...
and wallah... they get an all new dance.. but two thumbs up for them... job well done...
okay.. no videos were allowed in the theather.. too bad..
but i got a video during our practice on monday.. sorry if it's blurr.. haha..
better than nothing right?? lol.. ^^ do enjoy..

Im going back

im leaving in a couple moments time...
my stay tis time around can be summarized into one word.. and that is "sudden"
its like in just a blink of the eye.. and im on my way back home again..
im not gonna come back for another 10 weeks or so...
SYF on tuesday.. and after that.. im gonna be in study mode all the way till november... i hope..
o levels is not a big deal.. but it cant be taken lightly too...
ok... enough said.. i gotta go...

A day back in time

today.. i was back at kwang hua..
have fond memories for this school..
the days when we ponteng class together.. play poker cards secretly at the back...
the days we played basketball or football together..
ahh.. those were the days... haha ^^
so.. today.. i went there to get my letter.. but too bad.. it wasn rady yet..
met up with puan sally and settled it with her.. the letter can be collected on monday.. and my dad will settle it from there onwards.. they'll be coming to singapore on monday night.. tuesday's my big performance and they wanna watch me DANCE!!.. haha ^^
so i reached school around 11.. and weiheng and iunn jenn ponteng the last 2 lessons to be with me...
awwhhh... im touched.. haha..
had light lunch at mamak stall.. before i went of to somekind of temple for prayings...met up back with them at klang parade...
haha.. practically wasted 2 hours of our lives singing pathetically...
but it was fun.. all 7 of us... me, weiheng, karwei, vernsen, hoonginn, ziliang and iunn jenn..
chris couldn't make it even to sku.. he's having piano exam tis tuesday.. all the best to him..
weixian leh... tuition.. study first right weixian?? haha.. no commitment..
hian ee leh... aiyo... tuition lo... biasa adi.. haha... but long time no see him adi leh.. today go sku also no see him..
met up with a couple old buddies.. they all still look the same to me... do i still look the same??
haha.. pn raynie saw me too.. and she said " new hairstyle?"...
everytime she meets me.. this is always the first question.. but seriously... my hairstyle can change until how oo?? haha ^^
and she remembers my sis too.. looks like english teachers at kwanghua always remember me and my sis.. don know why.. lol..
ok.. going back tomolo... havent really done anything yet..
practice on monday again.. and then it SYF..
omg.. its so close.. i can smell it... SYFFFFFF!!!!!

Drained out..

cant believe how sucky the bus ride home was...
first of all.. it wasnt cheap.. 40 sing dollars... and it took 6 hours to reach KL...
the seat were all seriously shit.. and there was no entertaintment too..
even though i slept throughout the journey.. but the bus was seriously crap.. and they charged us 40 dollars for it..
but too bad.. there wasnt any seats left.. so we had to grab those seats when we had the chance..
slept all the way.. reached KL at 4am.. and my dad came around 5.. took me home.. and i fell straight on my bed..
slept for 6 hours... still in all my fancy clothes..
the dance practice the day before certainly killed me...
slept for only around 3 hours the night before...
my head was heavy when dance practice started... and i felt like i was gonna collapse at any given moment..
talking about our dance.. i seriously think that were getting better everytime we practice...
the moves are getting more and more synchronised.. and the stunts are way better after intensive practices..
haha.. just hope my roll over and freeze is perfect on tat day itself...
just bought some stuff over at JJ just now...
a white working long sleeves shirt for my dance.. and a hugo boss cologne..
but the price was way more expensive if compared to singapore... so now i know where to buy when it come to cologne..
bought my parents a tea time drink and meal today.. haha.. how good i am right? ^^
ok.. so.. i think im gonna rest well for a few days..
the guys back in singapore still have practice tomolo.. good luck to them.. 9 to 5.. haha.. working hours.. all the way dance dance dance...
im skipping it.. obviously bcoz im in msia.. and i hope i don miss too much..
and if i do.. i hope i can catch up on monday.. which is our last and final full day practice...
before D-Day on tuesday...
thats the day.. when catholic high school win gold with honours for dance for the first time in history..
i hope so.. ^^

i came back at 12.10..

yea.. that was the time when 13 of us reached parry hall after a tiring night of dance practice..
it was held at NUS UCC.. but it was not the stage we were dancing at..
but it was the dance room.. but what the hell.. it was one hellova dance room...
it was more then twice the size of our current school's dance room..
and even has a changing area inside of it.. mirrors everywhere and also bars on the sides...
wow.. thats every dancer's dream i guess..
so we had hardcore training today.. today was crucial.. even more crucial i think then the next 3 days of full day practice..
full day practice starts tomolo.. but im not asleep yet..
kinda grown immune to sleeping at night..
so im going back tomolo.. but it would be tiring tomolo..
7 months of training of this dance just for 7 minutes on the big stage.. i wanna make it count..

its a weeks time to the big day.. and thats SYF..
training willl start to get vigorous starting tomorrow..
we'll have practice from 5 to 10 at UCC.. the place we're performing itself on the actual day..
thursday will also be a full day practice.. no lessons for us dancers..
and i'll be back to m'sia for the weekend..
caught a movie on sunday...
shinjuku incident.. believe me.. its a nice movie..
kinda violent.. but so what...
catch the movie if u can.. but i think its 18pl in msia..

The pressure is on US!!

yeah.. thats true..
found out halfway through dance today dat ours school's band got GOLD with HONOURS in SYF..
they got the silver 2 years back.. and now.. its gold with honours..
seems like the gold with honours title is a must for us dancers now if we still want to keep our head high..
the feeling was bad when band members saw us walking to the front gate going home..
they came down their bus and shouted "gold with honours...!!"
haha.. jiexiang la... keep shouting... job well done to them..
they are still having their dinner.. haha.. so late adi still not back..
its so good to get their results on the day itself..
we dancer must go through the agonizing wait for our results..
2 days before we know our fate...
a gold with honours will be our first for CHS dance CCA...
and that will also maintain our record of improving in every SYF...
a silver in 2005.. a gold in 2007... a gold with honours in 2009??!!
really hope so.. did a full dress rehersal today.. and the effect was good...
but the emotions are missing.. and we really need emotions to get a gold..
to get the honours... we must blow the judges off their feet.. and i think we can..
because we have a special trump card.. and thats keewen.. his backflips and handstands will put the audiences and judges in awe and stand agape.. haha.. ^^
